Returning to the lodge for lunch, we saw several armadillos rooting their way through the leaves searching for food.
We also spotted a Fowler deer that had been imported to the island for hunting purposes.
And we saw this Yellow Rump Warbler who is on his way to Canada.
We drove through beautiful marshes and alongside creeks on our way back to the Lodge.
This is one of the guest cottages on the island.  They accommodate only 32 people at one time for over-night stays.  Pete and I visited for the day trip only.
At last!  The picnic under the beautiful oaks.  Food was delicious.
